Klaiber's Kabins is nestled among the Allegheny National Forest which provides you with many outdoor opportunities. You will find swimming, boating, hiking, biking, hunting, fishing and much more. No matter what the season be - Winter, Spring, Summer or Fall - you will find that our area has much to offer the outdoor enthusiasts.
Bendigo State Park and East Branch Dam

At Bendigo State Park, which is only 1 mile away, you will find a swimming pool staffed by certified lifeguards. The atmosphere is perfect for hiking, picnics or just laying in the sun.

At East Branch Dam, which is only 2 miles away, you will find many outdoor activities awaiting you. Boating and water skiing on the lake are the most popular attraction to the dam, but it also offers hiking, fishing, hunting and much more.

The nearby historic town of Ridgway provides an array of outdoor excitement. Canoe the wild and scenic Clarion River by renting a canoe at Love's Canoe Rental. One block from Main Street, you will find the trail head to the Clarion-Little Toby Rails to Trails, where you can explore the wilderness scenery by bike or foot. In the winter, The Laurel Mill Cross Country Trail provides lots of groomed trails for cross-country skiiers. For Special Events, such as the Elk Expo, Chainsaw Carving Rendezvous and Elkland Fishing Derby, please see the Elk County Chamber of Commerce. Klaibers Kabins is offering a variety of guided packages.

Sportsmen will find Klaiber's Kabins adjacent to Pennsylvania's First State Gameland which provide them with a remarkable variety of wildlife in the area including deer, turkey, bear and small game. The abundant game and scenic surroundings provide hunters with a memorable outdoor experience.

Fisherman will also find that this area can be an exciting and rewarding experience. The Clarion River is popular with local fisherman and it just so happens that Klaiber's Kabins is conveniently located on the East Branch of the Clarion River. The East Branch Dam has also provided fisherman some fine catches, such as muskie, trout, walleye and small mouth bass.

Hunting & Fishing

When you have had enough of the outdoors, you will find the following museums and tours available for your enjoyment:
  • Elk Watching - You are only 30 minutes away from the ever popular Elk that roam near the town of Benezette.
  • Straub Brewery - Tour the local brewery which is only 10 minutes away in the city of St. Marys.
  • The Winery at Wilcox - Tour our local winery which is only 10 minutes away in the town of Wilcox.
  • Holgate Toy Company - America's finest wooden toys - only 20 minutes away in the town of Kane.
  • Zippo Museum - Popular manufacturer of collectible lighters, knives and others - 40-45 minutes to Bradford.
  • Kinzua Bridge State Park - See the beautiful view atop one of the highest railroad trestle bridges in the world!
  • Antique Shops - You will find quaint Antique shops throughout the nearby towns.
  • World War II Museum - is located in Eldred, Pennsylvania. During World War II, Eldred was the site of a British and American munitions plant that produced eight million bombs, mortar shells and fuses.
